ComingOutCinema: Announcement for November 29
Dear friends
This Saturday, November 29, ComingOutCinema will show a film dedicated to AIDS issue.
December 1 has been declared an international AIDS day. In 1988 the United Nations General Assembly declared that AIDS became a global epidemic. To attract everybody’s attention to the problem, the United Nations resolution 43/15 has officially declared December 1 the world’s Day Against AIDS. On that day, the world community expresses solidarity with people with AIDS and supports the efforts to fight AIDS worldwide; urging to social tolerance and expanding the information exchange.
We will have the movie It’s My Party (USA) by Randall Clyde, 1996.
Nick Stark is a successful artist, but when he is diagnosed with AIDS, he faces a major loss in life: his lover Brendon walks away. One year later, Nick’s health deteriorates seriously, he develops a brain tumor, so he throws a going-away party, wishing people to remember him the way he was, a cheerful man, not a “vegetable”. Brendon comes to the party, too. These two have no time and no desire to start all over again, but will they have time enough to at least pardon each other?
November 29 (Saturday), at 6 PM. Ligovsky pr., 87, suite 300
Please bring a passport or your student ID to show to security at the door and please don’t be late for the show, we’ll start at 6 PM sharp.
