Opening of the New ComingOutCinema Season: LGBT and Parenthood
Dear friends,
we’re glad to inform you about the opening of the next season
“ComingOutCinema” on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at 6 p.m.!
We are going to show two films on the topic of LGBT-parents in the club
“Papaprotif” (www.papaprotif.ru).
“Two girls and a baby”, Australia, 24 min., director Kelli Simpson
Catherine and Liz want a baby, Catherine does at any cost. But does she
understand that such a decision changes her whole life? It seems that she
doesn’t. She spends hours on the phone talking with sperm banks, but little
does she think about real family problems.
The film has taken part in many festivals and it won the Palm Springs
Festival Audience Award.
“Pédale Dure”, France, 84 min., director Gabriel Aghion
Loïc and Seb are homosexual and they’ve been together for a long time. Loïc
dreams of being father and becomes sperm donor. And his dream becomes true:
Marie, about who Loïc and Seb begin to take a lot of trouble, wanted to have
a test-tube baby and is already in her third month of pregnancy. The three
of them are happy together, but Marie falls in love with Charles with whom
she spends a lot of time now. So Loïc and Seb do everything in their power
to push aside the guy who destroyed the balance of their relationship. After
all, for them it could mean the loss of their child.
As always, after the film a discussion on this topic will take place and we
invite all of you to take part. We are going to talk about the possibilites
of gays and lesbians in Russia to become parents; gays and lesbians with
children are going to talk about their lives; and, of course, we can not do
without the reliable opinion of a psychologist.
We are waiting for you!
Saturday, January 17, in the club “Papaprotif” at 6 p.m.
Address: Nab. r. Fontanki, d. 24
Admission free.
