We invite you to join the “Friends against Homophobia” video-event, dedicated to the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (May 17).
We encourage all the LGBT and their friends to make video messages against homophobia. The simplest scenario of such message is: “My best friend is a lesbian, and I want her to live in a world without homophobia!”. You can film your message with a mobile phone, webcam or professional camera - it does not matter.

Dear friends!
We invite you to join the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (the 17th of May).
On this day in 1990 the World Health Organization under the jurisdiction of the United Nations Organization excluded homosexuality from the list of diseases. According to the statistics about one third of Russia citizens still don’t know that homosexuality is not a disease.
The International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (the 17th of May) has to draw people’s attention to the problem of homophobia and transphobia in the whole world. In more than 80 countries of the world homosexuality is still a crime. In some cases the law prescribes a life sentence. In seven countries it may be a death penalty. Even in the countries where homosexuality is not prohibited by law, discrimination and physical abuse occur more than just often.
The situation is even worse for transgender people who are more vulnerable, and lesbians who are invisible. In some countries there can be observed some improvements but they are unstable yet. In other countries the situation is worsening year by year.
