Regional Press Institute and the LGBT organization “Coming Out” with the support of the Russian LGBT Network and the European Commission invites journalists in St. Petersburg to attend a workshop on September 7, 2010 (Tuesday) from 14 to 18 hours on the topic:

Gender and hate speech.

At the workshop journalists will be able to:
- acquire knowledge on the topic: gender and its development, sexual orientation - biological, genetic and social influence, rights of LGBT people - human rights
- Learn about the life of gays and lesbians in St. Petersburg and Russia
- Learn firsthand about the dynamic development of the LGBT movement in Russia
- Get an LGBT glossary, and a lot of interesting materials for future journalistic work.

The seminar will be lead by experienced coaches:

Maria Sabunaeva - Psychologist, PhD, professor of psychology in Herzen RSPU.

Igor Kochetkov (Petrov) - historian, director of the LGBT organization “Coming Out.”

Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion of the workshop from the European Commission.
