Coming Out

One of the programs on the 100tv channel in Saint-Petersburg was on the following topic “Homosexuality – a democracy triumph or a national security threat?” Experts were invited to the studio to discuss a statement of Andrey Kuraev, a deacon, who said that “homosexuality was a crime against childhood”.

Dedicated to the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT)

On May 16th, at 8 p.m., the opening of the travelling photo project “QUEERessence” will take place at art-café FUNNY DOGS.

“QUEERessence” is the territory of queers in photo space, the gallery of the portraits of the peculiar girls. (Queer means “strange, odd”; public geys, lesbians and transgenders, as well as everybody who considers his/her gender identity and sexuality different from generally accepted hetero-norm, call themselves queers).

The show will take place within the bounds of the “Germany Week” , organized by the Consulate General of Germany in St. Petersburg. After the film show the audience will have the opportunity to participate in discussion on topic “LGBT-film festival Teddy Award and its social meaning for Germany”. Claus Mabel Asheneller, who is the CEO of Teddy Award, and who will come to St. Petersburg especially to see the show, will take part in discussion.

16 February there was a discussion with the members of LGBT-organizations on Radio Rainbow. The cause for the theme of the program “Unedited and uncensored with Sergey Pedde” was the seminar, that was held with the help of Moscow Helsinki Group on the base of the LGBT Rights movement and was named “Homophobia and the Church”. The participants of the program were the coordinator of LGBT Rights movement Vjacheslav Revin, the ordained deacon of the Association of the Apostolic tradition Community and the director of the Saint-Petersburg LGBT-organization “Coming Out” Valerij Sozaev and also the ministry coordinator «Nuntiare et Recreare»

The ComingOutInfo on topic “Is it difficult to be a homosexual family?” was conducted by Mark Kusherov, who is a psychotherapists and a Candidate of Medical Science, on February, 21.The workshop looked like a discussion. Guests compared their notes and answered the questions Mark asked. Then the psychotherapist supplemented information obtained with results of his own investigation and summarized things said.The following topics were discussed.
