On June 26th, at 7 p.m., the meeting of LGBT-parents and expectant parents on topic “Upbringing. Heteronormality and gender stereotypes.” will take place.
The meeting will be conducted in the form of discussion; the guests will be given a chance to share their own experience, and also to question specialists and other parents.

On June 20th, 2009, the organization “Coming Out” will hold the workshop, devoted to coming out issues. Participants of the workshop will be provided with information materials and opportunity to take part in practical tasks.
We each have a certain coming out experience, and many new things are waiting for their appearance in the future.
On the given workshop we will have the opportunity to talk about ups and downs during opening ourselves and will try to understand how we can help ourselves in this delicate and complicated process. Which reactions are probable? And which upsetting moments we can avoid? How we can help people around us to accept us being like we are?

Dear friends - all who are interested in supporting of film festival “Side-by-Side”!

As you know, within the bounds of the “Festival’s Festival”, from the 24th to the 28th of June, 2009, we will demonstrate six films of our program and will organize two discussions. We invite all who are willing to participate in carrying out of these events, which are so unprecedented for our town!

“Side-by-Side” and “Festival’s Festival” invite you to become an official volunteer of this large-scale town cinema event.

Six films of LGBT-film festival “Side-by-Side” ” will be demonstrated on the International film festival “Festival’s Festival” from the 24th to the 28th of June, 2009.
The contest devoted to knowledge of queer-cinema (please see the website of film festival for details) and organized within the bounds of demonstrations by “Side-by-Side” and “Festival’s Festival” began. Answers on questions will be received till June 19th, 2009 inclusive. All participants, guessed the answers, will receive the notification that they reached the final and will participate in a lottery. On Sunday, June 21th, on the “Side-by-Side” website, the names of three winners will be announced.

On Sunday, June 14th, the organization “Coming Out” invites its friends and, in turn, their friends to participate in the quest of the word’s riches! When to search the riches if not in the fine summer day?! Where to do it if not in the historical part of Petersburg suburb?

ComingOutInfo will take place on 30th May (Saturday) at 18.00, which will be dedicated to gay-pride. We are going to listen the following reports: “Gay-pride from the point of view of the civil society. Gay-pride in Europe and Russia: the newest history”. We will have an opportunity to listen “pro” and “contra”, discuss the gay-pride importance to LGBT-movement progress, and explore the western and Russian experience.

“Side-by-Side” festival invites you on 29th of May at 8 p.m. to a press-club “Zelenaya Lampa” (subway station “Chernyshevskaya”, Gagarinskaya street, 3) to watch a German film “Unveiled” by Angelina Maccarone (2005).

This film tells us about a tragic fate of Fariba Tabrizi, which leaves Iran for Germany because of the death threatening. “Unveiled” got some prestigious movie awards.
