Dear friends,
On October 11 (Monday) at 19.30 we invite you to the ComingOutCinema devoted to the Interantional Coming Out Day!
After two short movies “I am gay” and “Intervention” provided by the LGBT Filmfestival Side by Side we suggest to discuss a key topic for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders: the topic of openness, the topic os “coming out of the closet”.
Should one come out? How does one come out? What will change afterwards? Can one live the whole life “in the closet”?
We look forward to seeing you!

On Saturday, October 9, at 15-00 a meeting for LGBT believers will be hold by the LGBT ministry “Nuntiare et Recreare” with the support of the LGBT Organisation “Coming Out”.
It is well known that LGBT believers don’t find understanding in their communitites. But we too have our own spiritual experiences, which is an important part of our lives.
These meetings do not attempt to create a new religious organisation, but are aimed at mutual support, communication and discussion of the individual spiritual experience that each of us as an LGBT believer has.

In spite of the obstacles and difficulties all events of the International Queer Culture Festival took place. From September 16 to 25 in St. Petersburg musicians and poets performed, photographers and artists exhibited their works, all in support of ideas of tolerance and adequate attitude towards gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders (LGBT).

“I want to bring the situation with the acception of people living with HIV outside the pattern when everybody knows “it is safe, it is not transmitted”, but is still scared,” - sais Lida.
Children with positive and negative HIV status posed for photographs. Portraits of children are taken in such a way so as not to show the entire faces. Only under these two conditions the anonymity and safety of the HIV-positive models can be guaranteed.
This summer, photographer Lida Mikhailova (exhibitions “I’m a lesbian. Do people around know about it? “,” Out of the closet”), made a wonderful project, “Positive Children”.
The photo shooting involved children with positive and negative HIV status. The project aims to draw attention to the problem of discrimination and prejudice against HIV-positive children.
“I want to bring the situation with the acception of people living with HIV outside the pattern when everybody knows “it is safe, it is not transmitted”, but is still scared, - sais Lida.
Calling attention to the HIV-positive children, we want to get the idea to the public that:

It is exactly one year since the International Queer Culture Festival 2009.
We are happy to tell you that the organization “Coming Out” continues the tradition and invites YOU to Festival 2010!
The Second International Queer Culture Festival will be held in St. Petersburg from September 16 to 25, 2010 Through music, theater and poetic events festival aims to draw public attention to the problems of homophobia and transphobia in Russia. The slogan of the festival - “The Art of Being Yourself” is a call for everyone to be confident in themselves and to understand that respect for differences is the basis for the creation of a free and happy society.
The notion of “queer” refers both to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people and to all people who do not fit into the framework of ideas of what men and women should be. “Queer” offers to see a human in the first place as an individual.
Detailed information about the program can be found at the official Festival website: http://www.queerfest.ru
