The Public Organization Coming Out (Vyhod ) of St. Petersburg

The St. Petersburg’s Public Organization Coming Out unites LGBT (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgender people), and friendly heterosexuals.

The organization emerged in April of 2008 as an outcome of the Week against Homophobia that took place in St. Petersburg, uniting those people who care about their present and who are ready to work to change their future.

The Organization's main goals are:

- implementation of projects and programs aimed at combating discrimination, defamation, and violation of rights of citizens due to their sexual orientation, gender identity, and other attributes;

- providing assistance in observing human rights compliance in the sphere of gender relations and in promoting gender equality in the society

At present, the Organization consists of over 20 members; the Organization adopted its Charter and began the process of official governmental registration.

The Public Organization Coming Out of St. Petersburg is a member of the Russian LGBT Network.
