From 10th till 20th of October 2009 еру festival of Social Art Art-Sobes 2009 takes place in St. Petersburg.

This is a festival of visual (artistic) expressions on the topic of different views about men and women and their roles in different spheres of life and activities. “Coming Out” together with “International Queer Culture Festival” as partner-organisers of this festival invite you to join the project.

We assume that every person is wider than any frames and suggest to reconsider the meaning of the things that are out of standards, are left over and eventually become the source of pity, exclusion and inequality. We believe that difference can become a place to invent oneself and mutual amplification.

With all my heart I congratulate you with the opening of the Festival! You were working so hard during last months in order to organize it, so it started at last! You put much effort into the preparation of this event: not only physical, but also emotional, which is the most important thing. I hope all your sleepless nights and meals missed will be repaid during these wonderful days, saturated with splendid events!

On September 19th, 2009 the first International Festival of Queer-culture will be opened in St. Petersburg.

One of the events on the festival program is Drag-Fest.

The Queen of the night will be the winner of the contest “Ukraine has talents 2009″ Artem Semenov with his inimitable image of singing travesty-diva Ursula.
